                                         BATTER

A semi liquid mixture containing flour or other starch used to make cakes and breads.

The gluten development is minimized and the liquid forms the continuous medium in which other ingredients disbursed , generally contains more fat, sugar and liquids than dough.

A semi liquid mixture or liquid and starch used to coat foods for deep - frying.




                                          BASTING


 Moistening foods during cooking (usually roasting, broiling or    
  grilling) with fat ,pan drippings ,a sauce or other      
  liquids to prevent drying and to add flavor.

• Basting mainly meaning cooking technique that involves cooking     
  meat with either its own juices or some type of a preparation such  
  as a sauce or marinade well.

• Cook after then a periodically coated with the some juice.
